I came across the teachings of Fr. Emmanuel Charles McCarthy a few days back. It was interesting to me that Martin Luther King Jr. was the person who opened his mind to nonviolence. Check it out around the 6 minute mark in the video below. Like many testimonies of those who come to believe in nonviolence, it was not learned in the church or the seminaries. The conviction came after reading the scriptures and looking into the first three centuries of Christian history.
